7 Warning Signs Your Sewer Line Needs Repair
Your sewer line can’t send a text when it’s failing — but it does send signals. Learn to read them and you’ll catch most problems while they’re still a camera inspection and a cleaning, not an excavation.
1. Multiple slow drains at once
One slow sink is a local clog. When the tub, toilet, and washing machine all drain slowly together, the restriction is in the main line they share.
2. Gurgling sounds
Air trapped by a partial blockage bubbles back through fixtures. Toilets gurgling when the washer drains is the classic tell.
3. Sewage odors
A healthy sewer system is sealed. Smells in the yard, basement, or from drains mean a crack or dry trap is letting gas escape.
4. Lush or soggy patches in the yard
Sewage is fertilizer. A suspiciously green strip of grass over the sewer run — especially a soggy one — often marks a leak.
5. Recurring clogs
Clearing the same drain twice a year isn’t maintenance, it’s a symptom. Roots, scale, or a belly keep catching debris in the same spot.
6. Backups in the lowest fixture
The basement floor drain or downstairs tub is the first place a main-line blockage shows itself. If it’s happened once, it will happen again.
7. Foundation cracks or settling near the line
A long-term leak washes soil from under slabs and footings. New settling near the sewer exit deserves a camera look.
Seeing two or more of these? A camera inspection settles the question in under an hour. Call (833) 713-2101 and we’ll take a look inside your line.
